CHRISTMAS DECORATING

Good Evening,

🎄I can’t believe it is December 4th.  I have completed most of my decorating at our house.   We have been having some painting done and the painter completed the foyer on Friday.  I think it looks so neat and clean.  I chose to stay with pretty much the same color as before.

🎄This is the first year I have themed my decorating on some trees and areas.  I will start taking you a tour through our home the next few weeks.

🎄As you enter our home I have placed 2 prelit trees, with a touch of snow on each side of the door.   A sled with some ice skates and a red bow gives a wintery touch to the entry.  I added some greenery, white lights and a sign that reads “ There’s snow place like home” to my “Holiday Garland” container.  This sign was made for me by my sister Deve from a piece of wood she got from the old barn at our home place.   I love things that are handmaid that have such special meaning.

🎄Red and black plaid are very popular Christmas colors this year so I decided to buy some 4” ribbon and use this with the white lighted greenery going up the staircase and across the cat walk.   I found  some throws that had the same plaid print that brought the colors together.   The family tree with  our special ornaments gives the entry a wonderful Christmas feeling.

🎄I placed a tree at the top of the stairs where you get a good view of the ledge over our front door.

🎄This year I decided to make the ledge look like and old fashioned toy store window.   I put a tree with colored lights that compliment the family tree.  I placed the large nutcracker to the left of the tree and added toys around that are special to us. The Carrom board and badminton rackets are the ones I played with when I was young. (35+ years ago) The bubble gum machine and remote control car was Phil’s when he was young (40+ years old)  The fire truck was our son Canaan’s when he was 4.   (20 years ago)  I enjoy things that when you look at them you get fond memories of your past.    Maybe some of these toys remind you of some you played with as a child.
