Summer is here and I am loving it. It has been getting light in the mornings before 6 and staying light til after 9 pm. I love the time and energy that comes with this season.
As I said in my last blog post I would share some pictures of the graduation party we had for our youngest son last weekend. What a beautiful day God gave us. I found a few ideas on Pinterest- which happens to be one of my favorite past times. I took the ideas and added my own touch to them.
The cupcake holder is made of clay pots and heavy poster board that I painted red. I got a couple of tassels at the dollar store and put on them to make them look like graduation hats. I added some EHS letters on the large bottom pot to personalize it with his school initials.
It made a beautiful center piece for the dessert table. We also had cupcakes in the numbers “18” as well as homemade brownies & Brittany’s amazing red and white star sugar cookies.
I made his card box to look like a graduation cap topped with his 2018 Eastern Tassel. I placed this on a table in front of my newly painted antique door with his pictures hooked to lighted close pin garland I found at Hobby Lobby.
The centerpieces were another Pinterest find but I added a few things to bring in the USA feel. They were pieces of 2×4’s painted white with glitter tops, hooks to hold the ballons, a hole to place an American flag with pictures on both sides of our handsome graduate.
The 4×4 with 4 of his pictures & bullets is one for us to keep.
As you can see I love to do a lot of different things, decorating & throwing parties are a few more of my blessed hobbies.
It was an awesome party with lots of family and friends. God has truly blessed us with a wonderful son who loves God and his country. We thank him and all of the service men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. Freedom isn’t free. It cost a great price as did our freedom from sin. Christ paid a great price for you and I. I am so thankful he did.
The day was wonderful and it showed as the family proudly wore shirts to show our support for our Army Soldier. – I think he loved this the best. –
As a mom, of course I didn’t want Eli to join the military. I wanted to keep him close to home where I could help him whenever he needed me, but once he chose this path I don’t want him to think for one minute we are not 100% in support of his decision. He needs a great support team and a great God to walk with him daily. This will be a tough one for momma but it will make me grow. I will pray more, trust God more and cling closer to the cross than ever before. God has the whole world in his hands not just our tiny little home in southern Ohio. He is in control of your area too. Look to him for guidance strength and love. He has lots to give.
Blessed Beyond Measures,
