Good Evening,
Memorial Day is fastly approaching and people are getting ready in our community. I even pulled out the American Decor to show our patriotism.
I am so thankful to live in this wonderful country and am ever so grateful to all who have fought or given their life to allow us the freedom we have in this great U.S.A.
SOME DIED FOR MANY ONE DIED FOR ALL!!!
I don’t have a lot of big plans for the weekend but hope to make a trip to the cemetery to decorate my dad and grandaughters grave. I also want to find time to take a dip in the pool, take a golf ride and maybe sneak a date with Phil. 😉 (Hint hint in case he is reading)
I haven’t put a recipe on my blog for a while and figured with the upcoming summer festivities I would share one of my favorites that people request often. I actually got this recipe from Paula Dean years ago but have changed some things to suit me. With so many cookouts and get togethers you can never go wrong with “Baked Beans.”
Baked Beans
6 cans pork and beans ( I use Van Camps)
1 c. BBQ Sauce ( I use Sweet Baby Rays)
2 T. Mustard
1 can crushed pineapple (drained) (“pineapple in beans? Try it you will be amazed”)
3/4 c. Molasses (I use Grammas Molasses)
6 oz Real Bacon bits
1 c. French Fried Onion
Pour all the ingredients except French onions in a crock pot and stir.
Top with French Onions
Allow to cook on high for 3 hours.
This recipe is super Easy and Scrumptious = Win, win!
I plan to have this as one of the side dishes for Elijahs graduation party in June.
Stay safe this weekend. Enjoy your extra day off if you get one. Spend time with the ones you love and make lots of wonderful memories.
I am…
Blessed Beyond Measures,
Cindy
Cindy, you know how Bill and I love your beans! I’ve tried but mine aren’t good as yours. Are you sure you don’t have some secret ingredient. 😉
Hope your hubby gets the hint. Lobe you guys. Have a blessed weekend.
