Do it Yourself

April 3,2017

Good Evening,

I hope your day was filled with JOY even though it was Monday.  In Ohio this weekend it was absolutely beautiful spring weather.

Saturday we spent the morning/ afternoon shopping with our family.  We had   lunch and the men went to sporting goods stores while the women ( me, my daughter, daughter-in-law and grandbabies) looked at the more important stuff.  Lol.  I love to shop and it makes it even more lovely when I get to take my family with me, although its not that cost efficient when your a Memaw that loves to buy for them grandbabies.

On Sundays following morning worship we usually make Sunday dinner and Have the family over. This Sunday we were blessed to have my in-laws as well.    The menu included Lasagna, Chicken & Stuffing, Salad, Corn, Garlic/Cheddar Biscuits, Sweet Tea and Kool-Aid.  We then finished off with a Diet Red Velvet Cake, Cantalope and small pieces of Lemon Bundt cake with Hot coffee.  After lunch we sat around enjoying one another’s company, played with the babies, blew bubbles while some caught a nap.  We ended the day singing praise to our maker.  That’s what I call a wonderful weekend  blessed by God.

I figured as my first blog I would show you all what I see when I wake up every morning.  This DYI project my husband and I made for less than $20.00 is hanging on my Bathroom wall where I get ready for the day.  I purchased the broken window at a yard sale for $10.00.  Painted the top window with chalkboard paint and inscribed a saying that says it all.  Starting your day with Jesus!!!  I then placed a small piece of chicken wire on the bottom pane and stapled to the back of the window.  I found and old wall shelf that I wasn’t using for anything and screwed into the bottom.  I gave it a distressed paint job and you can see the finished project.  I love this piece because I enjoy taking some old items and giving them a new look.  I hope you like it as well!!!

As you can already see we enjoy spending time with family and I love to decorate country style.  Continue to follow my blog to see more things I have created with just a little imagination and a great big God.

Talk to you soon,

Cindy Lawrence
