Cultivating your Marriage ♡

Good evening,

I can’t believe we are almost thru the month of April.  Is time flying or is it just me?  The grass is greening up and the flowers are blooming.  It’s a beautiful time of year.  I love to watch everything come to life.

My bible study a few evenings ago was Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 about seasons in our life and it spoke to me as I read it.  A time to weep and a time to laugh.  A time to mourn and a time to dance.  A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted.  So many seasons In our lives on a daily basis.

This brought to mind the blog I posted previously about cultivating marriage. To cultivate means to prepare or work on.  A marriage definetly takes work.  Not just seasonal but all the time.  Meaning what you put in, is what you’ll get out.  If you are lazy, mean, hateful, uncaring, unthankful and degrading what do you think will come out of it?  Yep, exactly.  All of the above. Try showing love, compliments, thanks, a helping hand and kind words.  Even if both partners aren’t doing this, before long with kindness and God’s love you will reap a wonderful marriage.  Try looking for positive traits in your spouse and not negative.  No one is perfect. Oh, and you can still flirt and go on dates.  We do,  in fact we love going on dates even after 30 years. We love to dress up and I will even turn on songs that were played when we dated back In the 80’s and listen as we drive.  I leave Phil notes or cards, whether in the shower his lunch box or in his car and send texts frequently.  This only takes a few minutes but is important for a wonderful marriage. Why not let him know he is STILL the man of my dreams?!

In the world we live today marriage isn’t worked on very much and often ends in divorce if it doesn’t match up to what TV says it should.  Young people are expecting a fairy tale marriage as seen in movies.   If you feel your marriage is NOT what you want it to be try the following steps:

1.  Put Christ first in your life

2.   Pray, pray, pray

3.  Show kindness, love, be caring.                 and lend a helping hand.

4.  Look for positive traits

4.  Watch and expect (faith)

If you haven’t taken the leap of marriage, are in a relationship or looking for your soul mate.  Start doing the steps as well with people you date. God will send the perfect match to you. Phil told me this week that he CUSTOM ordered me thru prayer and that’s why he is so happy.  Wow…that made my day.

20160903_131658Ecclesiastes 3:11 says…

He hath made everything beautiful in his time and that just what he did for our marriag.

May we ever ask for guidance of the one who knows it all.  God is able and will provide you a love for your spouse that you will be amazed with.  Try it and see!!!

Prayers for all of you,

I am Blessed Beyond Measures,
